Transportation Demand Management Director
Scott Mullen joined A Better City as Transportation Demand Management Director in summer 2020 to, in his words “build innovative, scalable TDM policies of the future, now.” Mully leads policy research and advocacy related to active transportation, public transportation, employer benefits, transit fare policy, and city/state regulations. He also leads multiple Transportation Management Associations (TMAs) that collectively serve more than 100,000 commuters from the largest institutional employers in Boston.
A shared economy pioneer, Mully was an early employee at several groundbreaking companies and played a key part in the formation and growth of three transportation sectors: carsharing at Zipcar, bikesharing at Hubway (now BlueBikes), and micromobility at Lime. He has led teams in startup operations, business development, advocacy, strategy, and government relations.
Mully holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Merrimack College. On weekends, he and his grade school daughter make good use of the bike racks on MBTA buses to extend their ride radius in search of adventure, and lunch.
